Synopsis
Kenny is an ice cream vendor in Chicago with a crisp white uniform and an apathetic heart. When he encounters Lolita, a sharp-tongued but despondent insurance actuary, their heated conversation, natural spark and mutual hopelessness lead to an unusual proposal for a meet-cute: to travel to San Francisco, where they will jump off the Golden Gate Bridge together.

A buddy road trip movie mixed with Leaving Las Vegas? It seems hard to make anything original these days but I think this one did the trick. The film neither shied away from the issues of the lead characters nor did it dwell on them. If nothing else it did a great job showing how people can persevere through mental illness and build a life that works for them instead of trying to be the dreaded "normal". A bittersweet life, a sad and funny relationship drama that defies expectations.
