A buddy road trip movie mixed with Leaving Las Vegas? It seems hard to make anything original these days but I think this one did the trick. The film neither shied away from the issues of the lead characters nor did it dwell on them. If nothing else it did a great job showing how people can persevere through mental illness and build a life that works for them instead of trying to be the dreaded "normal".
