Saving the world is easy. Dating is a nightmare.
After six years without a date, Robert, the world's only superhero, is looking for love. The only barrier to his plan is that he regularly has to save the world, so he needs to get some time off if he is to meet his superwoman.

Bob is like every one of us. Except he's invulnerable and can fly. A sweet and charming comedy about a superhero on his "day off."
_SuperBob_ is quite a lovely little surprise - a very funny and sweet romcom that happens to focus on a superhero. As someone who dislikes the Marvel universe and that style of over-polished, glossy, mindless superhero cinema, _SuperBob_ feels much more grounded and human, drawing more from films like _Chronicle_ than _Avengers_. Brett Goldstein is so lovable in the title role, and his chemistry with Natalia Tena is a large part of what makes the story work. As for Catherine Tate, whom I already love, she does not disappoint, balancing her authoritarian character with her very Tate brand of comedy. Where the film falters is in its mockumentary style. It never quite seems able to decide whether it is going for the clipped, frenetic pacing of _The Thick of It_ or trying to draw more from the looser grammar of found footage. The result is uneven and, at times, distracting. With that said, the film hits its main goals and succeeds as a heartwarming, feel-good comedy.
