It still works well enough, and proves the character can work in a PG-13 world, but the film is neutered and you can feel it. So it's still fun, just not AS fun. Though the added segments with Fred Savage are pure gold. It's an oddity that's just testing the waters to open up the character to wider audience.

It's interesting to watch this film at the same time as the original to compare and see what elements are the ones that make the film lose its R-rate. It also proves that Deadpool is still entertaining without as much violence or profanity.

Even a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2, still feels rated R. The Princess Bride like scenes could have been funnier. To give this more of a reason to exist. It also could have been more Christmas like. That’s why I even put it on for the holidays.
