In the California apple country, 900 migratory workers rise 'in dubious battle' against the landowners. The group takes on a life of its own—stronger than its individual members, and more frightening. Led by the doomed Jim Nolan, the strike is founded on his tragic idealism—'courage, never submit, or yield'.

The kind of movie you finish watching and you think "that's it?", "where's the ending?". It's a well-thought-out movie with a good message and lesson behind it, but it fails on execution. I'm only giving it a 8/10 because of Selena Gomez otherwise it'd be lower.
A solid drama movie, set during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Unfortunately, this movie has lots of bad language, which was unnecessary. I lowered my score from 6 (very good) to 4 (average) because of the foul language. Bad language ruins good movies!
A decent effort from Franco, who deserves credit for bringing another American classic to the screen. Not a perfect film by any means, and my interest did wane towards the end, but still worth a watch, especially for those with an interest in classic literature.
