Martin, an ex-Parisian well-heeled hipster passionate about Gustave Flaubert who settled into a Norman village as a baker, sees an English couple moving into a small farm nearby. Not only are the names of the new arrivals Gemma and Charles Bovery, but their behavior also seems to be inspired by Flaubert's heroes.

This movie is a hottest Gemma Arterton festival show. Love it! Goddamn!!!
As I haven't read Madame Bovary, I was unaware of the similarities between the film and that classic work of literature. Thankfully the character of Martin filled in the gaps as he becomes startlingly aware of the similarities as he spies on Gemma from afar. The film is very simplistic and light on characterisation. However it is a fun watch despite some tragedy in the tale.
Worth to see only Gemma.
