Die Handlung der Serie setzt zehn Jahre nach dem Ende des Filmgeschehens ein. McDeere und seine Familie kehren aus dem Zeugenschutzprogramm zurück, um wieder ein normales Leben zu führen. Doch die Vergangenheit ist längst noch nicht begraben, und neue Gefahren lauern überall.

I just finished the film and the series. I find it hard to understand, that if they know they are going to cancel a series, WHY? leave it on a cliff hanger? I was hooked on this.
As a huge John Grisham fan, I had really high hopes for this show. After about episode 12 though, I'm just slogging to get through it so I can get to the end of the main story arc. I'm not a fan of the future-flashback format at all; thankfully, they drop it for the most part about halfway through but it really threw me off. Wanted to be a fan, but it ultimately just fell flat for me.
Another one with great potential bites the dust...I'm think it was the time slot.
