After an enjoyable first half, "Hell" turns into yet another movie about escaping demented captors. It all begins with the Sun becoming brighter and hotter, turning the world into a wasteland. Think "The Road Warrior" as a premise and subtract the action. Everything is about stealing the supplies of others until Leonie disappears and her older sister Marie begins the search for her. Marie is befriended by a middle-aged woman whose kindness is out of the ordinary given the condition of the world. Things get a little weird after that and without giving it away, weird doesn't necessarily mean good and you can be certain that you've seen it all before. "Hell" isn't that bad or that good. It's just nothing that you'll remember for long.

It's ok for fans of apocalyptic settings. I would recommend the infinitely superior The Road however. That can be enjoyed as amazing cinema irrespective of genera alignment.
