We all come back, or no one does.
'Danger Close' is a fantastic portrayal of the 'Battle of Long Tan' - a side of the story you don't hear very much about. It's a well above average war movie, filled with action. This movie surely exceeded my expectations, despite not having any big name stars (except for Fimmel), and lacking media promotion, this movie does deliver! In other words, this is what you'd get if you had a low budget 'Hacksaw Ridge' - without Mel Gibson. I suggest giving this movie a go!
The movie is average, actors were good but I am confused how nobody mentions how historically inaccurate this movie is... I mean when you see a helicopter flying over the woods — there is artificial forest where you may see the tree lines which surely wasn't a thing in Vietnam those days. Also the nature is kinda far from what it looks like in Vietnam at all and I was shocked we didn't see a kangaroo jumping around (sorry). Viet Cong uniform is far from looking similar to what they used. I don't mean they all were wearing those nón lá leaf hats but they weren't using boonie hats for sure since they were supplied by China and USSR... This is kinda ridiculous to watch to be honest.
What an amazing movie and so true to what happened.. The true heroes are the ANZACS,you did AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND proud, shame you were treated so bad when you came home from that horror...glad you are finally recognised properly but took too long for that to happen.!!! A 10/10 movie and good to see Travis from The Vikings..you gotta love his Aussie accent!!!!
That was a great watch. Riveting stuff. The greatest war movies always wander the line between "war is glorious" and "war is hell", this is no exception with many exhilarating scenes. But in the end, war is hell and war never changes,
This is a good war movie. It is so nice to see a war movie that isn't full of US propaganda BS. They constantly ram down your throat all the wars that they have won, but haven't been on the winning side of a war since WWII. Even then, they didn't join until right near the end and then claimed to have won the whole thing by themselves. More movies like this would be a good thing.
