I was expecting a simple follow-up sequel to _Generation Iron_ but with different competitors, different stories, different competitions, and different results. Instead of a "pure sequel", however, the best way I can describe this is watching the original _Generation Iron_ but from a completely different angle. Yes, the stories about the competitors were there; yes, the interviews were there, and yes, there were a couple of competitions with different results. But overall, this was a completely different look at the world of professional bodybuilding than the look presented in the original _Generation Iron_ film. This film shows not only the changing world of professional bodybuilding but also shows how social media has influenced that world. It also shows how - with the changing face of bodybuilding - these competitors have had to back up and take a different look at themselves and their own futures…and for many of them, that future holds very little promise. Not surprisingly, many of them either expect to (or at the very least, hope to) become the next Arnold Schwarzenegger: professional bodybuilder turned movie star. But the truth is, times have changed and Schwarzenegger is something of an anomaly. If you're contemplating watching this, I highly recommend it, but don't go into it expecting _Generation Iron_ in just a different year; this film is a completely new look at all the changes that are taking (or have already taken) place in the world of professional bodybuilding. Great film!
