Three years before the release of the American film "The Ring" and only one year after "Ringu", the first international remake, "The Ring Virus", was released—in South Korea. And what can I say? It's basically the same movie again, just without any surprises, with a much cheaper look and with worse actors. Except for the rather obvious product placement for McDonald's and Pepsi, the Korean version does almost nothing different from the Japanese original. The story still works reasonably well here, but it's a little tired. Nevertheless, I liked "The Ring Virus" a bit better than the Japanese sequels. However, I would have preferred to see a few more changes.
