What a waste of time. I have no idea what I just watched. The movie started off well with a creepy horror premise. I was pumped. Then, it went nowhere. By the seconded act, I was losing interest. I was glad when the credits showed up since, I can now watch something else.

Even worse than a Twilight Zone episode. Dakota is also even worse than usual - the dialogue between her and her mom is unbearable. Lasted maybe 15 minutes…

I liked it. The plot was good and Dakota Fanning was very good. I would have liked to know more about who or what the entity is. For me though I didn't like the plot "twist" of the box "not letting you go" when the old lady came back. Didn't make sense to me, because she fulfilled the demands of the box/entity.

Yes, it’s another horror film using its genre trappings to allegorically explore mental illness, anxiety, and depression. If you're already rolling your eyes, it's probably for the best that you don't give this one a try. Outside of a somewhat messy final act, Vicious is a serviceable piece of elevated horror that attempts to balance crowd-pleasing thumps-and-bumps with an intentionally opaque narrative, the ambiguity of which may frustrate those looking for the former and be too shallow for those looking for the latter. It's abundantly clear why this was pulled from wide theatrical release and dumped on streaming, but that's not to say I didn't have fun with some of Vicious' simple pleasures and overplayed plot points. It's perfectly fine, teetering on good, but I think I'll land on fair and call it a day.

This movie had the potential to be so much greater. At the end I felt like I was missing something.
