A beautiful blend of delight, heartbreak, and even a touch of morbid fascination. Joanne Woodward delivered an outstanding performance that was mesmerizing in its complexity and I am completely captivated. As my first encounter with her work, she left a lasting impression, and I need to explore more of her films. She's now on my list of beloved Old Hollywood actresses, right alongside ladies like Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, and Audrey Hepburn. Also, I know this may not be entirely true to the real story, but I still enjoyed the insights into the experts' discussions and the struggles Eve endured due to her condition. Thanks to Joanne Woodward's exceptional performance, my heart broke right along with Eve's.
The song “Christine” by Siouxsie and the Banshees is based on the book this movie is based on. That’s why I’m here. Surprising good, I usually don’t watch movies from the 50s
I was not expecting this film to be this good! Didn’t know anything about the film before I started watching it and what a pleasant surprise it was! The film, which tells the true story of a young woman with multiple personality disorder, is way ahead of its time in my opinion. Coupled with good acting and a storyline that never bores you, it’s one of the best films I watched that is from the 1950s. Would I watch it again? Absolutely. Would I make my friends watch it? Definitely.
