I'm surprised there's no comments here and that there were some really harsh reviews on this. I thought if was amazing, a real therapy for any girl who lost a father who cared for her. Russell Crowe was amazing, and I really loved Aaron Paul in the romantic hero role, he deserves more of them, with these eyes of his. I wept in this movie, although it's very rare of me. Only weak part I saw was the music - could've been less cliche. But all the rest - it's great. Perhaps it was unnapreciated because the idea of a connection between a father and child is still so unaccepted? Or maybe the fact that the women presented there were pretty selfish (Elizabeth, and the literary agent)? I don't know, but I know for a fact that there are men like that out there, I hope there's gonna be more of them. Watch this movie. It worth your time.
This is a very sad movie, it's one of those movies where you can see how it's going to go coming really the entire time but that doesn't soften how much it affects you witnessing it happen. To any dads out there with daughters, just warning you now, this is going to be like a sledgehammer to the chest.
Considering the other comments on this page, I feel kinda bad saying this. The movie did nothing to touch me emotionally, and I am usually a crying machine when it comes to films of this sort. Crass soap opera rather than class tear jerker, this left me feeling disappointed. Sorry.
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye... A truly wonderful, touching, heart-warming, beautiful film, love is powerful, and it can destroy us, or it can be the most beautiful thing, and a father and daughter's love for each other can be everlasting.. It wasn't fair for what he had, and what was happening, life can be so cruel, and it happens today in the real world, he had every right, didn't deserve it even with his mental health.. It kinda pisses me off that life can have that outcome... This film got me right in the feels, tears poured.. it's worth your time, won't be disappointed..great cast.. A great job from a great actor, Russell Crowe, and not forgetting Amanda Seyfried, and Aaron Paul that also did great.. Fathers, and Daughters never say goodbye...
love can break us and fix us at the same time .. but man, a family love, and specifically a daughter's love for her father ... no love is close to it I cried so much watching this, i cried and I was left in a gloomy mood all day long just thinking about it, I loved it sm
