Handlung
Die Familie Russo macht eine Urlaubsreise in die Karibik. Die rebellierende Alex will nicht auf diese Reise mitkommen, doch nachdem sie ein weiteres Mal unerlaubt gezaubert hat, wird sie gezwungen, den Urlaub mitzumachen. Obwohl es ein netter Familienurlaub sein sollte, sieht Alex es als Strafe an, denn sie wollte bei ihrer Freundin Harper zu Hause bleiben. Außerdem ist sie genervt, dass ihre Eltern Jerry und Theresa ihr alles vorschreiben, obwohl sie bereits 16 Jahre alt ist. Nachdem Theresa ihrer Tochter, nach einem weiteren Streit, Hausarrest und Magieverbot erteilt hat, ist Alex wütend und wünscht sich, dass ihre Eltern sich nie begegnet wären. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass Alex bei ihrem Gefühlsausbruch den mächtigen Familienzauberstab in der Hand hält, wird ihr Wunsch Realität.

Based on the IMDB pages, I think this is supposed to happen between seasons 2 and 3 of the TV show!

Wizards of Waverly Place has always been one of my favourite Disney Channel shows, the movie is a fun one too.

Its quiet heartfelt! I hadnt even seen more than a couple episodes of the series when I first watched this, and the emotional beats still came across. Always nice to come back to.

You know what? First time watching this movie and it wasn't bad. Actually it was kinda fun, the tropical vibes and stuff. It took me YEARS to watch it. I watched the whole original series like two, three years ago and I promised myself that I would watch this movie once I finished Wizards, but hey, I completely forgot about it... And now there's the Wizard's spin-off, which I spent the last few days binging like crazy on Disney+. Revisiting the original trio, in a different scenario I guess it had a deeper meaning for me, I felt like a warmth seeing those three again. Man! Selena, David, Jake, Jennifer, Maria and DeLuise was/were PERFECT in their roles. Hopefully we'll see a mega family-friend reunion in the new show.
