What I admire about Full Moon is you know what they make is low budget, but it doesn't stop them from being ambitious and trying to make a great film. _Subspecies_ is not a great film, but it's also not terrible. This is a pretty standard vampire movie, it has all the tropes of a gothic horror, only set in the time it was made. From a technical prospective, this is pretty good; the editing, and special effects are a little dodgy, but acceptable. Being that this is a vampire movie, I think I should mention our bloodsucker himself, Radu. He is a mix of old, and new: that is to say, Count Orlok meets Robert Smith. Yeah, not much to say about this one: it's a vampire movie from Full Moon, what do you want? It's not as good as _Puppet Master_ (1989), though if you like B horror, it's totally worth a watch.

Not bad, but not great either. Filming location was fitting for a vampire film. Some of the shots were reminiscent of classic vampire films, such as lurking in the dark and figures slipping away while making shadow puppets with long salad fingers. Characters make typical poor choices to move the plot along. Not a lot of action but didn’t move too slowly to be a bore.
