It's one of those movies that I watch fast-forward. It's so boring. It's like something starts to happen and then there's a disconnect. They couldn't make it to the end. If you like this genre, watch it, but I don't think you will like it very much.
A solid psychological suspense.Well filmed, well acted by Jordana and Scott and well directed.Good movie with excellent plot twist.
_Surprise! Another movie where some genius at TMDB marked it as "horror" when it is in no way a horror._ 🙄 The "unexpected twists" mentioned by another reviewer was extremely telegraphed by all the missing scenes that followed critical moments. Even after the "unexpected twists" were revealed_- which turned out to be _exactly_ what I assumed, -_ I still held on to the hope that at least the "cellar door mystery" would be interesting, but oh boy what a dud. The movie had a weird "low budget film quality" to it, kinda felt like I was watching one of those hallmark christmas movies. Not sure why, something about the "color filter" on the movie or something.
The film is generally predictable; some of the dialogue and plot twists are predictable before they happen. And although you're hoping for a bigger shock at the end, the final twist is also quite good. P.S. I wouldn't take a pig in a poke, even for free. ;)
I’d recommend ignoring the negative reviews and giving this movie a chance. Since it’s listed under the Horror and Thriller genres, I went in with the wrong expectations. To me, it fits much better as a Mystery/Thriller. Jordana Brewster was outstanding—I don’t think I’ve ever seen her perform this well. It’s been over two decades since she first appeared as Mia in the Fast & Furious films, and it feels like she’s finally broken the mold and leveled up. Well done. Addison Timlin is another promising actress, in my opinion. This is only the second film I’ve seen her in with a substantial role, the first being Stand Up Guys (2012). Scott Speedman, too, remains one of the most underrated actors out there, and he delivers a strong performance here. Overall, this feels like a film where all three actors were given the space and direction to truly excel.
