Hilarious and what the hell did I just watch? There was so much that was not subtle in this. Haha.
Best animated movie in the gaylaxy!
It's called Lesbian Space Princess. Ah ah funny. And it is. Well it is exactly the kind of humour you imagine is in a movie called Lesbian Space Princess. So mostly dumb low level jokes, on the queer/woke/men are dumb register. Actually I'm not sure it can really be called jokes. It's more like a sequence of feminist sarcastic tweet replies to a white male. It's quite funny, at least for the first twenty minutes. Afterwards it feels a bit repetitive and very predictable. The story is still cool and well paced. Saira's self loathing and lack of confidence is well depicted. One thing I wonder, while Willow is listing her flaws, she says something like she's not observant. Which could match her not finding the ladder to get out of the hole earlier. However, this comes literally a minute after she's the only one who notices the moon crystal they needed next to the ship. Also later, when Saira just sees the button in the ship, Willow says she saw it ages ago. So, was it just a stupid mistake from the film makers ? Is it Willow being nice by describing imaginary flaws ? Is it Willow lying to get laid ? Also at the end, the Maliens literally just **decide** to be gay. Which is a really really weird message to send for a queer production.
Saw this at the Lovers Queer Film Festival at Turin and it captured not only me but the whole audience instantly. This is a cult classic! Also I never have seen Anxiety being represented so…real! And the whole movie, despite being full of laughts, was just so tender! This movie has captured a piece of my heart and of many others in the crowd. We couldn’t stop talking about all the little things afterwards. This is a movie from the community for the community!
