A fairly basic slasher with tons of really violent and gnarly moments. I do think the gore was a bit overhyped by early reactions, but it's still one hell of a mean spirited throwback animal horror film. The practical effects in some of the kills were badass and the actual way they brought Ben to life was impressive. The John Carpenter style synth score was really fun as well. The characters make a bunch of cliche bad decisions, but how else are you going to justify this monkey killing like 5 people in one night? I might enjoy it more on repeat viewings, but it's a 7 for now. Definitely better than the trailers made it look. Decent January horror release. Worth a watch!

It does exactly what it needs to do without dragging anything out :clap_tone3: The story was fun, the kills were gory, the survival choices were… questionable, and the silent scenes were suspenseful af… yeah, this was great horror

Not bad, but I'm kinda sick of going to the movies alone. This would've been WAY more fun if I had someone to cuddle with and scream together while we watch Ben rip people's faces off

I was holding my breath throughout the whole movie and a lot of the time i had to look away. This movie was very visually uncomfortable and disturbing and reminded me of Cujo. Well worth a watch! Pure horror at its peak

Yea, yea, yea - stupid script, dumb plot... But, enjoyable watch. Not worth a rewatch, but not regretting the quick 90 minutes on it.
