Epic, Epitome of emotions, valour and pride. The first half was good and the second was something that cannot be defined. Go experience that ride.
Bang average movie that was made watchable by the lead. Every side character was meaningless. Sometimes I couldn't tell who was who because they did so little for the plot. I guess a Marathi would identify closer to the source material and feel more but as a non-marathi, this movie did nothing for me. Horrible cuts, horrible writing, poor screenplay, drawn out ending. Vicky Kaushal acted his heart out despite the lack of Marathi accents and that was the only positive apart from the actor who played Aurangzeb who was also good. Not even worth a one time watch as it is a nothing movie.
They almost had something great on their hands. The camera they used made some bold stylistic choices for the color and lighting, which I believe paid off. The movie looked visually spectacular. Vicky Kaushal’s acting was impressive. His rage, pain, sadness, all of it were expressed very well. In that way, this was his film. No matter the final verdict of the film, he should look at this movie with pride on his resume. But fucking hell. Why did they have to go and ruin the movie with typical Bollywood unrealism, over the top action, over using slow motion, and rock music?? I got annoyed at the start itself when he held the lion’s mouth open with his bare hands. They exaggerated his strength the entire fucking movie. He was a human being. Not superman. He might’ve been fierce, intimidating,” legendary even. But it’s moronic when you show him pushing 10 soldiers at the same time just cause he’s really angry. Thats not how physics works. And you expect the physics to be realistic when you pay homage to a real life character. Not to mention someone who played an important role in India’s history. Anything else is just an insult to him and a wasted opportunity to get people talking about our past. The slow motion you get from all Bollywood movies since 2 decades didn’t help either. And is a period piece from several centuries ago, BASED ON TRUE EVENTS, the place you put rock music?? Why why why. I was almost impressed. Almost.
Big expectation from this one
Average at first but ekevated by Vicky's acting.
