While not necessarily a fan of Tupac, I do recognise his talent. Unfortunately, I don't think this film captured his story well. Flitting from one moment in his life to the next, the film ticked the boxes of his life without proving a coherent whole. The film has its moments, but too often comes across like a glossy made for tv movie.

Checking this one out. Just finished Notorious, which is one of my favorites. Have yet to watch this one though. Hoping it holds up.
How in the hell is this getting derided?! I swear, I'll never understand modern critics... Sure it basically plays by the numbers of a typical biopic, and breezes through the major events, without really stopping to focus on some kind of profound narative. But this is an interesting story enough on its own, that it's compelling. And everybody does a good job. On top of that, we even get small glimpses as to who the man was on a deeper level. Sure Pac deserved a groundbreaking movie, but this was a good one still.
Ugh, another movie idolizing male entertainers whilst glossing over the misogyny and abuse of women.
