Original Cape Fear was good, lots of suspense and drama. Robert Mitchum was awesome.

The original is way better than I imagined, specially the staging, acting, lighting, editing and score in the last 20 minutes are outstanding. Surprisingly the staging overall is quite modern for a 60'es film. And I can only imagine how shocking certain things depicted must have been for the ppl at that time. It is rightfully considered a classic of the genre and in film-making in general.
