What was supposed to be the epic finale of the original "Omen" trilogy quickly turns out to be a trivial and somewhat boring horror flick. While I generally appreciate Sam Neill, he fails to infuse the adult Damien with any unique personality in this film. His quest to prevent the return of the Son of God isn't exactly brimming with suspense, either. And his adversaries—a group of seven monks—act so incompetently that it's almost comical. Overall, you can definitely skip "The Final Conflict."
Pretty flat third instalment of the franchise. For hardcore fans only
I really liked this one, but I felt like the end was extremely rushed compared to the rest of the pacing of the movie... I did find Dean's reactions towards the end a bit oddly written too. His motivation, knowledge and actions up to that point was very explicit then suddenly "you're all crazy!"...
Labelled as the penultimate epic final entry to the movies in the franchise featuring Damien but ends up being it's downfall. Sam Neill as Damien Thorn is perfect in the role and I like the outcome of his character, he's interesting but the movie he's in is mediocre. So slow, uninteresting story and the kills we got aren't bad but they're not at the heights of the first two movies. We focus on some weird stuff here, scenes that don't matter—bad direction all around! How is it possible to make a movie about the antichrist taking over the world boring?! Not a fan of the third act or ending. Couldn't wait for it to end.
