People expect movies to be their personal story or something. I don't know what people want from a movie. This is a very good movie looking at a demon that possessed a child from the black version. I'm so tired of watching the same ass white devil kids, I can relate more to this movie more. It's very good. I don't know what other was looking at
i thought the mother was rihana lol
I didn’t mind the drama side to it, but by the time it got into the horror it was switching between 3 different locations and there was no real scare and I just wanted it to be over. I was really impressed with Andra Day’s performance, keen to see what else she does. Also, who the eff cares that Glenn Close said yes to this role. Like that queen has done nearly every type of role, let her have some funnn. Doubt this movie is going to do any damage to her career lol
>*"My son ate his own shit today."* ***The Deliverance*** works best as a family drama about abuse and the focus on the dynamics between it's fairly interesting family members. It's good simple psychology food for a while. That's the first half but then it abandons the interesting drama and becomes a mindless generic exorcist movie. The change in tones doesn't work because they have nothing to offer that's better than the first half, it's just the usual schlock and it's boring. This movie should have been a drama only, it's unsatisfying that we didn't get to explore the characters more in the second half. Not really scary but there's one brief scene of gore that surprised me. The performances by Andra Day, Glenn Close and Mo'Nique remain the highlight of this for me.
One of the worst movies of the year so far. Avoid this movie at all costs.
