Okay, it just came out on Netflix, just waw it and it isn’t perfect, but damn, it kept me hooked, it came out to be better than what I expected. Anurag Basu’s got this knack for weaving messy, real love stories, and this one’s got four of ‘em, all urban and raw. It’s a musical, which is rare for Bollywood, so props for that alone. Pritam’s music? Absolute soul, those songs and the background score hit me right in the feels. Pankaj Tripathi and Konkona Sen Sharma are comedy gold as Monty and Kajol, though their story gets a bit chaotic at the end, like it’s trying to say two wrongs make a right before fixing itself. Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta’s arc is super sweet, proper heart-melter. Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur’s story has dope character arcs, showing life’s ups and downs in a cool way. But Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s bit? Ugh, so annoying and kinda unrealistic, glad real life isn’t always like that. I love how it talks about stuff people usually avoid, bold, “woke” vibes done pretty well, even if it stumbles sometimes. Some folks online are whining it’s all about sex or too explicit, but nah, it’s about feelings, not just physical stuff. It shows life as it is. Also, big win: it doesn’t try to justify cheating like some other films (Aap Jaisa Koi). The second half is a bit slow, and some stories don’t wrap up neatly, but I was never bored. It’s got this magnetic vibe that keeps you watching.
