I'm no aficionado of live action anime and yet I feel like I've seen everything it does before but coherent and better. A few very nice graphic arrangements early on (in particular the umbrella scene on the roof) but as the movie progresses those are ditched in favour of subpar CGI. Oh, and that terrible cheesy piano and synth strings sentimental European style music that for some reason is a staple in the Japanese movie industry.
