Death Therapy, Bob. It's a guaranteed cure.
Bill Murray is always a delight to watch
A psychiatrist suffers from a very heavy patient.
Murray and Dreyfuss deliver excellent acting performances. And Murray is wonderfully annoying (as asked for by his character). He does though also, as he often did at the time, overact at times, which becomes than just annoying for the viewer. Well, that is though not so bad as to spoil the overall performance. The major problem that I have with the story is that the acceptance and love of everybody but Dreyfuss for Bob is just unbelievable. I could not get myself to accept that at all times, though that acceptance is the key to the humour of the movie. Well, maybe it is also just that part of this 1990s comedy (that feels a bit like from the 1980s) have not aged all that well. That said, it is still a decent comedy worth watching if you do not intend to give it too much thought.
What About Bob? is a classic Bill Murray film that’s outrageously hilarious. From director Frank Oz comes this tale about a neurotic therapy patient that becomes obsessed with his therapist. Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss make for a great comedy team and deliver a ton of laughs. And it’s especially well-written; developing interesting, quirky characters while also telling an entertaining story. Fun for all ages, What About Bob? is a wonderfully charming family comedy.
