God, I can't wait for the next season.

The year 1600, the decisive moment in the Battle of Sekigahara. After the strategic retreat, Toyohisa Shimazu, a commander of the Shimazu clan in Satsuma, flees alone into the mountains, eventually finding himself in a corridor with countless doors. There he encounters a mysterious man named Murasaki, but before Toyohisa can ask him a question, he is sent to the other side of a stone door. The commander enters places, an alternative world in which so-called demon people live alongside humans. Together with Nobunaga Oda, Yoichi Nasu and other heroes who have come to this world from different times, Toyohisa plunges into the battles of another universe as a samurai. "Drifters" has aroused my interest with its "Hellsing-like animation" and, like "Hellsing", manages to tell an entertaining story, if not exactly deep, with this animation. The coming together of fighters from different eras is a brilliant idea and the soundtrack just doesn't let you skip the intro. I really wish the anime got a second season.

Good show, but I absolutely hate the fact that they’re speaking in a made up language. It’s basically like you’re watching the Sims. And even worse is the signs/songs/simmish language subtitle track on the Blu-ray is missing several lines of the made up language. So I have to go back and switch to full subtitles once or twice an episode to figure out what they’re saying. Did they not even do quality control on the series?

Definitely a hidden gem. Strong story & should have been continued. Great watch!

That's one of the best shows I've ever seen! I NEED the next season.
