This was a great anime. Anime cliche was in the least and plot was really impressive. It was similar to 'Outbreak Company' but with more intense background. Ending was not much satisfying and they tried to rush the show to completion. I would definitely like to watch another season with a bit of closure to some parts of the story.
Should have had 24 episodes :(
If I was 18 and Japanese I would have been calling the JSDF once I finished this anime to enroll.
It's actually quite a nice anime, but the constant masturbation fantasies of a pubescent and the repeated attempts to explain why paedophilia is actually okay in THIS world really mess it up for me. This makes the political dodges from this pubescent's head all the more annoying, as do the superficial moral dilemmas, barely any character development and the overwhelming amount of cliché-dripping decals in supporting roles.
This was a great fresh take on the isekai genre. It's kind of what is in the back of everyone's mind when watching fantasy anime, what would happen against real weapons of the modern age?.... Well, Gate shows you....and **spoiler alert** it does not work out well for medieval sorcery! A great, normal MC that I guess was OP, but in a normal, overachieving human sort of way. The story, pacing, and action scenes were all great, as well as the animation. There are a few small things keeping it from being perfect, IMO, for me....most notably the prince and warrior bunny. They definitely should have done something different with his character and fully fleshed out hers. All in all, exceedingly entertaining...and something that you can watch with, or recommend to, pretty much anyone. The story wraps up with a bow, and 24 episodes was perfect for this show.
