The first half of the season wasn't too bad and thankfully wrapped up Ian's whole Gay Jesus schtick. But it felt like the writers gave up in the second half...every episode was the same--Fiona gets drunk, Carl has relationship issues with Kelly, and Lip has relationship issues with Tammy. Hopefully now that
Fiona has left the show
, they will tie up the siblings' storylines and bring the series to an end.

Fiona’s story this season is almost parallel to season 4. She is going out with someone that has nothing in common and doesn’t care about her family, starts having some success in her “career”, gets in over her head with no support system, goes on a self-destructive path (her Gallagher trait), until someone offers her a helping hand. This time, however, she makes a significant change. Same with Lip, he shows the same arrogance and contempt for Fiona as he did in season 4, often helping others instead of his own sister. Ian’s storyline keeps getting crazier and more absurd to the point it’s almost unwatchable. Liam gets kicked out of school for no fault of his own and none of his siblings come to his help. Frank massively disappointing one of his children is like a rite of passage but this was especially hard.
