The propaganda is getting way too obvious, atleast in 1990-2000 it wasn't as subtle.
Gave up a short while into the 2nd episode. It's just shit. You'll spend all your time wondering why you're not just watching the film again. It's yet another modern production that decides that everyone can act utterly contemporaneously and it won't be at all jarring - except it absolutely is and simply makes everyone look like modern day people playing dress up. Beyond disappointing.
Asian man playing Mozart? Great casting.. pass.
[Sky] Avoiding being a remake of Miloš Forman's film and leaning more towards the psychological drama of Peter Shaffer's play, it expands on certain perspectives and characters, referencing Freemasonry and war to construct a context that effectively underscores the story's exploration of envy and legacy. Joe Barton delivers another well-balanced series thanks to its well-developed characters, drawing on elements from the play and perhaps the film to create a work that is both classic and contemporary, and, alongside Paul Bettany, crafting one of the most profoundly tormented Antonio Salieri portrayals.
