Excellent show. Puts "Orange is the New Black" to shame.

I'm not sure it's an entirely fair comparison to make between Wentworth and OITNB; sure, both are set in women's prisons but OITNB is a quirky comedy-drama of sorts while Wentworth is a more straightforward, gritty prison drama. That aside, Wentworth is easily one of the best TV dramas ever; just terrific stuff and with a brilliant cast.

I was expecting this to be more similar to The Orange Is The New Black. Not so. Its an excellent show. Well written, very interesting. I was hooked by the first episode. The characters are impecable, acting at its best! Just livin the Aussie accent too. Ohh that Mr Jackson, what a body on that man!!! ❤ :ok_hand_tone2: I don't do spoilers, but if a show totally takes me in the opposite direction of what I assumed. I've got to see it thru to the end!!

Don't even read anything about the show, just go and watch it. Amazing.

Orange is the New Black became repetitive, at least for me, after the first season -- wound up skipping to the end of the last episode of season 2 only to see if it was finally going to resolve as it wasn't worth the time if not. Gave up on it after that, would have made a better 1 season story limited to 8 episodes. It's a Saturday-morning cartoon compared to Wentworth. Wentworth packs a lot of punch into the first episode, and from there it snowballs -- gathering more vixens and plot twists along the way. I should never have started watching at 11pm, it's so good I watched through sunrise ;-) Excellent storytelling... engaging... addictive...
