Sword of the Demon Hunter is off to an intense start and I like how they took their time in the first episode to get us all invested with the main character, it's not fast paced to start but I'm excited to see what comes next. Update: Confused about the point of the show now, it was off to a good start but now I don't even know what's the point

I’m absolutely at a loss for words seeing how poorly rated this anime is—I genuinely don’t understand why. It’s easily a strong 7 out of 10 at the very least. A 59% rating is truly undeserved, and I hope you won’t take it at face value. Give it a chance and form your own opinion by watching at least the first episode. The show is very intriguing, and the story is incredibly well-written and produced (currently, only six episodes are out). The voice acting is spot-on as well. The first episode alone convinced me that this would turn into something really good, so I’m a bit disappointed by the reviews here. The only downside that might be swaying opinions is the somewhat lackluster animation during action scenes. However, the story more than makes up for it. Personally, unless the animation is TBAE-level bad, it doesn’t really bother me. The overall art style is beautiful. If you’re into action-fantasy tropes, I strongly recommend giving this anime a shot.

The first episode was really good. After that it was all ups and downs, mostly the latter. Sometimes you don't understand what is even happening. The animation is shit most of the time as well. Also it's slow to the point that it's a chore to finish certain episodes. Meh; at best.

I just finished the final episode of the first season, and I’m left deeply moved. At first, the story seems to follow a fairly classic path built around revenge. But what really surprised me was how the anime handles the passage of time and the evolution of its characters through it. Without going into spoilers for those who want to discover it for themselves, I’ll just say this: the series tackles some pretty raw subjects, as, murder, torture, confinement, and other mature themes. Yet it does so with a certain moral grayness, never reducing everything to good versus evil. It shows that our convictions, no matter how firm they seem at a given moment, inevitably shift as we grow and begin to question our original goals. I genuinely appreciate shows that take their time to tell a story, especially in an era where everything has to move fast and be filled with nonstop action. This anime reminded me a bit of Clannad, particularly in its second half. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who enjoys series that make you reflect on your own beliefs and help you appreciate life as it is. I can’t wait for season two!
