Like Tuesday on summer vacation: it's not the standard joy of a day off but somehow better because usually it's a pretty sucky day. There were so many places this extended metaphor could've gone wrong and yet there I was, teary at the end.
Not an original concept by any means it's been done more than once but the execution feels unique enough. The acceptance of death theme was done pretty well and it's quite litterally a metaphor for becoming friends with death. A great blend of fantasy and drama but the tone is completely off most of the time going from comedy to borderline scary to emotional. The direction is satisfying but it tends to get a little repetitive and it dragged in the second half. It dragged so much in fact that I didn't really get emotional in the defining moment, felt like my emotions kept being postponed to the next scene indefinitely until I didn't care anymore. Great performances from the two main actress', nice CGI for the parrot and very badass voice from Arinzé Kene.
It's not really my kind of movie, but it's good. The subject matter might be a bit heavy for some. Think of it like this: It's a simple and understated portrayal of a young girl battling a terminal illness and her mother's journey with her, a struggle between life and death. Sometimes it makes you question, "Is dying better than living?" It's not really my cup of tea, genre-wise. I got a little bored watching it, but it's not a bad film. It's a bit hard to grasp, but the message it conveys is beautiful. It's an average movie. Kudos to the filmmakers, and enjoy the show!
Tuesday (2024) - ❤x8 Death comes in the form of a giant Maccaw - what an interesting concept. Tuesday shows death some kindness and he responds in kind. Mom, however was another story and nearly causes the
world to implode
. I die tonight. I die tonight. I die tonight - really got me. You've never seen Dreyfus like this before. How I rate: 1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too 9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
"I Love Sarcasm" "Is That Sarcasm?" "Yes" Weird concept. I love the parts with the bird and the daughter. It got ridiculous and crazy after that, though.
