This is an unexpected delight. It's got to be the most wonderful human movie of the year. It's about acceptance and forgiveness, but it also presents one of the most complicated issues of how we treat people with mental difficulties either from disease, birth defect, accidents, etc. It does it in such a way as not to be preachy or judgemental, but in a humorous and touching way. It's thought provoking for those that are open to that message. One of Harrelson's best, proving his range as an actor. I gave it a 10, because I thought it was a 9.5 as I wasn't thrilled with the way it started. However, that's so miniscule to the rest of the movie, I rounded up. Great for an evening in where you want to laugh, cry and feel good about humanity.
Wow, fascinating Feel-Good-Film. Not very surprising scenes but excellent actors. The Gags have been placed perfectly. I really enjoyed it to see it in a sneak preview today.
A good feel good inspirational film about a failing professional basketball coach who ends up coaching a rec center disability team after his temper gets the best of him which the law forces him to community service. The plot development, or even more importantly, the character development is what makes this movie great, as the coach bonds with the players and makes him and the audience look at things in a different light. Their fight for the special Olympics on and off the court is as inspiring. Acting was superb.
I liked the movie, it has humor, drama, reflection and a good message.
This was a wonderful uplifting movie. Such breath of fresh air. No political, or cultural references at all. Just a fun, easy going movie with a dose of comedy, but not over baring either. Nice and balanced.
