This should've been season 2 of the falcon show. There was no need to make this a movie.
The we have Captain America at home edition of Marvel movies. Also Red Hulk blue balls. This is such a bland, uninteresting, and uninspiring way to take the mcu. You can tell this movie was reshot and edited to death on the cutting room floor. Half the time Anthony Mackie is talking to a character you can tell it’s a stand in. Weird to see eternals and future wolverine aspects mentioned in this. That fill in falcon character is cheese and would love to never see him again. In all one of the most uninspired super hero movies and one of the worst Marvel has made. Still carrying positive expectations for Thunderbolts, so we’ll see!
Alright, to be totally straight about "Captain America: Brave New World," the truth is, the movie's a letdown. It lacks pacing, the villains are forgettable, and honestly, it just feels like more of the same tired stuff Marvel's been putting out lately. It doesn't even come close to the previous Captain America films. To be frank, it's just a time-filler that leaves no real impression.
Even with low expectations this was a disappointment. Only the Red Hulk bit entertained me, the rest of the action was piss poor. I got bored of those shield trick shots very quickly. Giancarlo Esposito and Tim Blake Nelson's baddies were very poor indeed.
I honestly don't feel like writing much about what I consider the MCU's dismal state. Marvel Studios has definitely somehow forgotten how to create entertaining movies (and shows) that feel like they're set in the same world. That hasn't been the case for me for a long time. Instead, the focus on the rather questionable continuity now tends to ensure that the projects are no longer of the same quality. I would at least give “Captain America: Brave New World” credit for the decent production values of the film. But it doesn't have much more to offer than lame action and a half-baked conspiracy plot. Anthony Mackie is okay overall as the new Captain America, but his strengths are definitely not played to the full. In terms of acting, no one else can take center stage here either. The biggest problem with the movie, however, is that it is largely boring. With the earlier MCU films, there are sequences in each one that are still clear in my mind today, even after many years. With “Brave New World,” on the other hand, I struggle to recall any real highlights after just a few hours. The idea of building on the tone of “The Winter Soldier” was certainly not wrong, but the execution is poor. If boring and forgettable are the new quality standards for the franchise, I predict a bleak future.
