It is really effective in portraying some of the issues with the Vatican even today, such as its unneeded "secrecy" and the fact that only privileged people (or whoever knows one of them) has access to the state. This is the only good aspect of this film: it starts really well with an intriguing Kafkian lead, and it gets lost after the first half an hour in a mess from where it does never recover.
