Manages to evoke equal measures of laughter, repulsion, shock, and savage glee throughout the entire film — something that most entertaining movies can only achieve in a handful of scenes...yet “Nurse” doesn’t have a single boring frame in over 90 minutes. Sure, it’s not for everyone. But for people who enjoyed the Evil Dead trilogy, (specifically Evil Dead: II), this film can be likened to the of unapologetic B-movie indulgence to an extent. It’s not *that* outrageous in the blood splatter & limb-severing department as the Evil Dead flicks, (then again, how could it?), but has a lot more plot for those of you who don’t want to watch attractive women & brutal murders without having a decent narrative thread stringing it all together ;) 8/10. Joe Bobb says check it out...well, I’m saying that he’d tell you to check out. I’m pretty certain he’d endorse this flick, what else do you need to know before deciding whether or not to watch a movie about a crazy nurse who — in her own words — “loves men”? I rest my case.
Decent sexy B-Movie horror flick. Would've been better if the main actress didn't try so hard.
I wonder what this would have been like with a different lead actress? Paz de la Huerta does a lot of internal narration, but talks like she is a stupid woman-baby The story itself could have been good - but it didn't really work (apart from Regina - she was golden! "I'm not really the smiley face type - do you have an angry face?") Although the Gin Wygmore music was well suited
While a little derivative and cheesy, Nurse 3D sort of works in a B-movie kind of way. The story follows a hospital nurse named Abby Russell who kills philandering men on the side, but when she becomes obsessed with one of the nurses in training she starts to get reckless. The performances are deliciously awful and really help to amp up the camp factor. Additionally, a lot of the CGI blood effects look quite fake (especially the ones meant for 3D). However, there’s a nice bit of mystery and intrigue to the character of Abby Russell, and whether or not she’ll get caught. Ghoulishly entertaining, Nurse 3D is a pretty formulaic horror film that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Total unredeeming exploitation trash. There are a couple cool gore kills, but aside from that, it's just the typical slasher story we've seen a million times. Probably doesn't help that I can't stand to look at the lead onscreen.
