Deliciously entertaining, marvellously acted, surprisingly self-aware and just so so funny and wonderful. Oh and those outfits…… my god! I’m so happy I watched this!

Really funny, really charming. Has some solid, memorable musical numbers but it's the friendship between the two leads that sticks with me the most. Also George Winslow's line reading of "you've got a lot of animal magnetism."

This is a classic Marilyn Monroe film. This contains the now iconic "Diamonds are a girls best friend". There are definitely some fun moments and this is a classic musical comedy in many ways. Having said that, Monroe's character is a bit hard to like with her open greediness and with all her scheming to get ahold of diamonds and marry a rich man.

Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe star in Howard Hawks’ _Gentlemen Prefer Blondes_. Based on a stage musical, the story follows two showgirls, Dorothy and Lorelei, who take a cruise to France, but soon discover that they’re being followed by a private eye working for the father of Lorelei’s fiancé. The musical numbers are all pretty good, but of course the showstopper is Monroe’s iconic “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” Additionally, the comedy is well-done and delivers some good laughs. But the writing is weak, with a paper-thin plot and thinly drawn characters. Yet while it has its problems, _Gentlemen Prefer Blondes_ is a fun and entertaining film.
