By the third one, the thing is already a mess. They've changed half the supporting cast and it completely takes you out of the movie. The plot focuses on family secrets that seem like they're from a daytime soap opera.
The twist that Vance is Hardin's father is predictable, but his reaction is as disproportionate as always.
They still don't know how to communicate without yelling. The relationship is a manual of what NOT to do. It's heavy and repetitive. Honestly, at this point you only watch it out of inertia to see how the disaster ends.
_After We Fell_ is a pointless, angsty teen sex drama that undoes all of the character development from the previous film. Picking up where the last film ended, the return of Tessa’s long-lost father is quickly swept aside and Tessa and Hardin return to breaking up and getting back together…yet again. Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s performances have gotten worse (if that’s possible) and half of the supporting characters have been recast with lessor actors. And after three films, the Tessa/Hardin relationship just isn’t interesting anymore; especial when it’s going in circles. Even the soundtrack is stale. Incredibly disappointing, _After We Fell_ is a meandering mess.
WHERE'S TREVOR????? Straight up no plot. Also the short of plottwist???
After viewing the last two films in this series, I vowed never to watch another. But I did and after seeing this, I really wish I hadn't. It's the worst by far and I have wasted my time once again. Fool me once Hardin, that's fine. Twice? Fair enough. But three times? It's time we fell out as you are feeding me empty promises and boring lies. Sadly, there is one more film to go. Will I watch it? As a completionist, yes. I have to. I want to see all of these characters fall into a black hole of neverending torment - they deserve it because that is what they put me through. Please, scriptwriters, consider my suggestion as it would make the next 'After' worth watching.
Saw it in the cinema. Everything was predictable even before entering the theater. The best part of the experience was me screaming "NO, SHIT" very loudly after the big reveal. The structure of the movie was basically sex scene-conflict-sex scene-conflict-sex scene-conflict-sex scene-conflict-sex scene. And I'm not joking there were 5 sex scenes in this 1 hour and 48 minutes movie (just between the MCs O_O). The sex scenes weren't even filmed well. All the actors who were good were replaced. Charlie Weber was definitely the piece that was missing the most. I guess you could say he was replaced because the look of his character was more important in this one, because of well...obvious reasons if you've seen it, but he was replaced with basic white guy which makes the change not reasonable. The total 5 minutes when Carter Jenkins was featured were enjoyable (we couldn't not have some eye candy) and that one particular dream sequence was not as bad as I expected it was gonna be from previous shots.
