Don't let the awesome cast of actors fool you, it was a weird artsy-fartsy, movie. Kinda slow-ish pace for the first half, then slows down to a trickle, not even leading anywhere interesting or fulfilling. Left feeling pretty annoyed I wasted my time watching it. Not sure who would enjoy this movie ... maybe those who dislike action movies and appreciate "niche" indie movies ? I can enjoys those too, but this one felt especially empty of any content. Also, don't expect any last minute twists or grandiose revelations. There are none. They even went so far as [spoiler] make that a point at the very end of the movie [/spoiler] . Would not recommend this, in the seas of stuff there is to watch out there that's way better.

The main leads brought me in, the rest of the cast also looked very good, but unfortunately the script isn't ambitious or interesting enough to do them justice. The secondary characters are barely even there - and when they are they don't add that much to the story. By the end, the whole thing feels sort of like a David Lynch copycat, and even then it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of what that would actually look like.

The premise was interesting and the setup was quite clever but the overall execution was super weird. The abrupt changes in tone and completely nonsensical bits (e.g. Janet's recurring dreams) made me think this was a student film. Richard's story was ridiculously hamfisted and the ending excruciatingly drawn-out. [spoiler]I think if Tom and Janet had decided to pretend to their friends that they were injected before arriving at the weekend home, that would've created more interesting conflicts.[/spoiler]

So it's not normal to not cheat on your partner and it's not normal to have a generally happy relationship? That's the message I got from this and I felt like it was just ridiculous. The writers for this need to grow up, your bitterness comes through the script and it's childish.

This one's been on my list since it was released and I kept skipping it. There is some B movie charm here, and I enjoyed the first and last thirds overall, but it lost me during the middle quite badly. Writing and execution fell flat for long periods and despite liking many of the actors it just didn't get there. 4.9
