Good movie overall. No real action just a good story with some comedy thrown. This one proves that every movie doesn't need to be full of CGI movie to be enjoyable
Channing Tatum has officially reached that stage of his career.
Not being American, military movies don't do much for me and the dog was like one of those annoying movie kids. And you could see the ending coming from a mile away. But I still liked some of the bonding scenes.
I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is. It covers the heart of those that serve, including the dogs. I think this movie does a good job trying to reach veterans that need help, having been one myself that like Tatum's character kept telling myself I didn't for years. The poetic factor that he saves the dog as she saves him, really a well written script. Tatum does an excellent job, especially in the scene towards the end in the bathroom. It's not a warm fuzzy dog movie. It's a referendum on healing from the scenes with the hippie to where the doctor says he's not going to press charges to the brother sister reunion to the funeral. There's a lot of things that our country needs to learn to heal and this movie pulls them all in for two warriors, a guy and a dog.
Better then expected. Not much action, just two vets bonding and trying to get over their issues.
