This is a Bollywood retelling of Pride and Prejudice but it tried too hard to be both Bollywood and Hollywood and failed at both. The songs were in english and the translations lose all the poetry of the original language. Some of them were more Broadway than Bollywood and that kind of ruined it for me. And part of what makes Pride and Prejudice so amazing is the relationship between the two main characters. Their antagonism but more than that, the intelligence, the witty banter. And this retelling was missing all of that. This movie tried so hard to bring two worlds together, but in the end it was a miss on both ends.

Better than the 1995 adaption.

I think this movie is great. The soundtrack is great too.
