Based on the Stanford Prison Experiment, this telling of the story loses none of the dread and the horrific descent into the evil that lives in men. There's the slow rise in tension followed by the escalating abuse and taunts before it all explodes in mayhem. It's a pity the real experiment was fraught with fraud, but this movie delivers.
