This has a lot of the same qualities and issues as the other one I've seen in the series. This one has good drama. Oryu has a more important active role, having an administrative authority. There is still this weird japanese (exacerbated in yakuzas) notion of honor, and again, the villain clan is just totally ignoring it, with several assassination attempts, rapes (not shown), etc. I mean, a guy who is a vassal just announces he switches side and instantly try to dynamite both the guy who is supposed to be his boss and another clan head (Oryu is a clan head, right ?) who has the power of attorney on the previous boss succession. That looks way out of customary usages. The fights are still seriously bad. They're both ridiculous and a big mess. Oryu has again some "flirting" scenes with a dark handsome stranger that refuses to engage. I'm assuming this is the same in the others and she never has any relationship. And despite having a female protagonist, there is clearly no feminist design. Quotes from Oryu: "Humans always make some mistakes. Specially us women, we are full of default". "The real happiness for a woman is to be able to die for the man they love". Wow... But specifically in this one, the story is really engaging, with a great pace. The drama is excellent, with people that seemed central to the story surprisingly dying, plus the tragic ending for both couples. A bit disappointed there is no resolution of the actual situation. Two major and at least one minor clan head have been killed. What happens then ? Who takes control ?
