After watching all four these Wishmaster series - I can strongly advise just watch the first movie. They get worse...much worse. This is awful. The story is naff, the effects are awful, the Djinn is an awful prosthetic. The only slightly amusing things if the evil Djinn is a lawyer during the day. But honestly, just don't bother, there is so much better ways to spend 90 minutes.
why did both this and the third film have an extended sword fight? okay, hear me out. this is only ever so slightly better than _Beyond the Gates of Hell_ but every so often there's a moment or line of dialogue that if in a better movie (probs directed by someone else and with Andrew DIvoff back as the Djinn) this could've been one of the most iconic trashy horror sequels??? like double down on the clownery with Djinn catching feelings for the protagonist, go full rom-com with it, throw in some more inventive kills and we might be cooking a bitsy. unfortunately none of that was meant to be and as said this was just marginally better than the third but after sitting with that one i am willing to take scraps. <3
Well this one tried a subtle approach which was interesting. It meant that although the kills and effects were lacking there was an improvement in plot especially compared to the 3rd installment. There was no bad acting in this, Michael Trucoo in particular was great however I found the character of Sam insufferable. The end was also lacking
Nothing special about this one. Some real boobs, ugly fake boobs, low budget cgi. Lame story, rewriten too many times. 5.9. watched movie on 4k tv 11.9. watched directors commentary
There's an interesting premise on this one, but that doesn't help save it from just being more daytime soap quality dreck. What a weak whimper to go out on. For a series that had such potential, it's sad.
