A good family movie with funny parts, sad parts and love parts. Good to watch in a cold winter. Richard Jenkins the best in the movie between all the good cast.
Revisiting The Hollars for the first time since its release was a surprisingly emotional experience. Nine years ago, I enjoyed it for what it was, but watching it now hit me on a much deeper level. The film balances heartfelt family drama with light touches of humor, and the performances bring genuine warmth to the story. It’s not flashy or groundbreaking, but it’s an honest, touching film that really resonates—especially when viewed through the lens of time and personal change. For me, this rewatch was powerful and moving. Rating: 4/5 – 85% – Would Recommend
**Men need a push.** Very sweet movie. Despite feeling a bit generic, leaning towards a done before crowd pleaser. It's still a heart warming story of family and pulls those heart strings. Enjoyed the humour and chemistry. _Worth watching with your mum._
This is a weak three that turns into a solid eight. I am SO glad I didn’t give up on it in the first half… it turns into a wonderful movie starting with the haircut scene!
Actually this movie was a great surprise ! I was not expecting anything, and it is quite a good movie :D
