great movie about how the desire to achieve something can turn against you.

Very strange movie--sort of a B-movie exploitation picture with noir trappings. None of it makes a whole lot of sense, and as with most movies of the era the mental illness stuff is sort of ludicrous.

The psychiatric institutions of the last century are of something to take a note of when comparing them to the ones nowadays, not much different but way more hidden. People that end up in these places, no matter how "insane" all have a legitimate **sane** reason. After all, a reaction of this kind is often a product of an insane world.

Great idea for a plot but the it suffers from poor execution. I'd skip this one.
