[Locarno '25] An ambitious proposal to reflect a new generation of Irish musicians who recover traditions, but eliminate conservative and religious aspects to build a vision of the future that does not renounce its past. Giving sufficient space to the music, some concerns are raised about the weight of division and violence, but from a postcolonial perspective, that of young people who reclaim the offensive nature of folk music, the discomfort of lyrics that aspire to upset religious and political pulpits in order to find their own identity. It represents the contradictions and uncertainties, but also the hope conveyed by these new musicians who no longer speak of confrontations, but of coexistence.
