This movie just screams 90s. And it rocks

A comic book film that while cheesy and sometimes corny gives a worthwhile and fun experience. Its a film that shows the beauty of practical effects, one liners and good music. Its a film that has been diminished by critics as a poorly made and not interesting enough film. But critics are looking at this film the wrong way. The easiest way to enjoy this film is to just appreciate what it is; A classic film for kids and adults who love TMNT.

Brings back the memories.. Good clean action fun for the family

I'm going to be honest right up front. My very high rating for this movie is biased because I am a big TMNT fan and this movie is a big part of my childhood. I went to one of the 35th anniversary screenings for my birthday and I had great time seeing this on the big screen again. This is a great comic book movie because it's actually adapting a lot from the Eastman and Laird comics which is why the movie is darker in tone, has some light swearing, and is a little violent for a PG movie marketed for kids but it also has some little references to the 1987 animated series and plenty of light hearted moments as well. This movie still holds up great after 35 years. A lot of the humor is still funny, the characters are endearing, the fight scenes and action are very well done (especially when you consider that the actors are wearing heavy turtle suits), and the turtle costumes, Splinter puppet, and animatronics by Jim Henson's Creature Shop still look way more convincing and better than a modern CGI character would. The movie's score by John Du Prez still rocks and the licensed music soundtrack has that late 80's/early 90's charm and nostalgia that is perfect for a movie like this. I just love this movie.
